Virginia R. Long, “Jenny” passed away Wednesday, March 13, 2024 in Waco, Texas.
Virginia was born December 12, 1941 to Elmer “Buck” and Olive O’berg in Sparks, Nevada.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gene Long; and brothers, Robert O’berg and Keith O’berg.
She is survived by sons, Kevin Straten and wife Connie, and Rick Straten and wife Becky; daughter, Tammy Shinn; brother, Charles O’berg; eight grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.
The family will have a private memorial at a later date.

Sending prayers for comfort to you and your families during this difficult time. Oh, the memories I have of us all growing up across the street from each other! Your mom never let us get away with anything, hard as we tried! I also remember her always having cookies for us to eat! I remember Mrs. Straten looking so perfect, her hair and makeup always done (even on the weekends). Hold tight to your wonderful memories and let them put smiles on your faces. Bless you all!
