Growing up in China Spring, Carri is excited about the opportunity to serve her community through Lake Shore Funeral Home.  After completing her bachelor’s degree in 1993 from Baylor University, Carri taught for many years in Waco and China Spring school districts.  There was nothing like teaching at her former school amongst some of her most favored teachers.  Carri always had an interest in the emotional well-being of her students and went on to receive her master’s degree in counseling from Tarleton State University.  She began counseling in a private setting in 2003.

Through Lake Shore Funeral Home, Carri is excited to offer professional counseling services specializing in Trauma and Loss.  As a Level 2 trained clinician in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), a highly acclaimed trauma processing technique, Carri is able to assist her clients in tackling the effects of trauma with a much higher success rate than traditional therapies.   Clinicians have been using EMDR for a variety of disorders, including, but not limited to panic attacks, phobias, grief, disturbing memories, pain disorders, eating disorders, performance anxiety, stress reduction, sexual and/or physical abuse, body dysmorphic disorders, and personality disorders.   In addition to working with trauma and loss, Carri has done significant work with depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and a variety of other clinical issues.

Carri looks forward to helping others as they overcome loss and finding their way again in a world that has changed.
