Vickie Smith, 59, of Waco passed away Saturday, September 25 in the hospital.
Funeral service will be 2 pm Wednesday, September 29 at Lake Shore Funeral Home. Interment will follow at China Spring Cemetery.
Vickie was born February 09, 1962 in Waco. She was the daughter of Mary Katherine Rawls and Aubrey Smith. She did warehouse work for many years until her retirement. She enjoyed going to church every Sunday, and her best friend Carla Shelburne’s house afterwards. She loved her dogs.

She was a wonderful mom, grandma, sister, and aunt. She didn’t know a stranger, and was willing to help anyone she could.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Glen Leake; and mother, Mary Katherine Rawls Smith.

She is survived by her dad, Aubrey Smith,; daughter, Melissa Rougely and husband Rodrick; son, Daniel Horton; grandchildren, Joe Alonzo Guerra, Ciarra Rougely, Rodrick Rougely Jr., Kadence Horton, Jaiden Horton, and Carolanne Hickam; sisters, Kathy Blackwell and her husband Guy Eagleburger, Debbie Sonka and her husband Mark, Sharon Snipes and her husband Dwayne; brother, Robert Smith and his wife Jennifer;  several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and their children.

Visitation will be 5-7pm Tuesday, September 28 at Lake Shore Funeral Home, 5201 Steinbeck Bend Drive, Waco.

The family will be at 220 Opal in Hewitt following the burial. Please wear your mask during the visitation, funeral, and when visiting the family home.
