Sue M. Whatley, 89, of Waco, passed away on America’s Birthday at a local hospital. Graveside services will be 10:30AM Saturday, July 6th at Rosemound Cemetery with Rev. Bruce Hines officiating. Visitation and viewing will be 6 to 8PM Friday, July 5th at Lake Shore Funeral Home, 5201 Steinbeck Bend in Waco. Sue was born the eve of the Lord’s Birthday in 1923 in Hubbard to Doyle S. and Nannie Dee (Statham) Waller. A loved mother and "first" best friend, Sue lived a quiet life as a homemaker. She was a gifted seamstress for her family. She loved her family dearly, even more so during her later years in life.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Frederick P. Schonerstedt, and Joel D. Whatley; her son, Danny P. Schonerstedt; one grandchild; parents; sister; and brother.

Survivors include daughters, Donna Adair and husband Don, Connie Silver and husband Duane, Judy Sisk and husband Danny, Jann Whatley, and Cathey Vaughn and husband Tony; 15 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; several counsins, nieces and nephews; and daughter-in-law, Linda Schonerstedt.

Honorary pallbearers will be her grandsons.

Memorials may be made to the West Relief Fund.
