Sonia Guillen, 40, of Waco passed away on Tuesday, June 11, 2024.

Visitation: 6-9 pm Monday, June 17 at Lake Shore Funeral Home Chapel.
Rosary:   7-7:30 pm Monday, June 17 at Lake Shore Funeral Home Chapel.
Funeral Mass:  10 am Tuesday, June 18 at St. Francis on the Brazos Catholic Church, 315 Jefferson Ave. Waco. Burial to follow at Waco Memorial Park.
Born on January 30, 1984, in Palestine, Texas, Sonia lived a life full of joy, love, and laughter, touching the hearts of everyone she met. Sonia was the cherished daughter of Marcelina Roman and Jose Luis Tovar and a beloved sister to Elizabeth Lozano and Jose Luis Tovar Jr.  Sonia grew up in Waco, Texas, where she attended La Vega High School. Known for her vivacious personality and a heart that welcomed all, Sonia was truly the life of the party. Her presence was a gift, illuminating every room she entered and making everyone feel cherished, whether glamming up the people of Waco or attending to administrative tasks, Sonia approached everything she did with dedication and a smile.She shared many happy moments with her partner, Milton Ramos. Sonia’s vibrant spirit and boundless energy also extended to her five adored puppies, whom she loved dearly.

Sonia loved creating Tik Toks, hanging out with her family, or simply enjoying a good movie at home. She was always up for a conversation about anything and made everyone around her feel important. Sonia was a fashion diva who loved shopping – for her, there was no such thing as too many clothes! She enjoyed glamming up others just as much as she did herself. No outfit was complete without her bold lipstick. She was a social butterfly who never met a stranger, always making new friends wherever she went.

She leaves behind her greatest treasures, children, Leilani Guillen and Eli Guillen, who were the lights of her life.

Sonia will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her legacy of love, laughter, and kindness will forever remain in our hearts. Rest in peace, Sonia. Your sun set too soon, but you will never be forgotten.

    My condolences’ to all of the Tovar Family, Leilani and Eli. Sonia was a beautiful soul inside and out. I was privileged to know her and really appreciated the light she brought to all of our encounters. Although it was a professional setting most times but I always looked forward to helping her. I pray for peace and understanding for her parents and siblings, and her beautiful children at this difficult time. Psalm 23 “The Lord is my shepherd; I have all that I need. He lets me rest in green meadows; leads me beside peaceful streams. He renews my strength. He guides me along right paths, bringing honor to his name. Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me. Your rod and staff comfort me.”
