Robert Dan Huber, Jr.

Danny Obit Pic

Robert Dan “Danny” Huber, Jr., 59, of Eddy, Texas, passed away suddenly on Saturday, October 3, 2020.

Celebration of Life Service: 11:00AM Saturday, October 17 at First Baptist Church in Eddy.  Inurnment will follow at Eddy Cemetery.

Danny was born July 20, 1961 in Temple, Texas to Robert Dan and Patt (Price) Huber.  He was baptized at the First Baptist Church of Eddy on June 13, 1973.  After graduating from Bruceville-Eddy High School, Danny served in the U.S. Navy and then opened his own mechanic shop with his friend, Randy. After that, he moved to Houston to begin working on tugboats.  In 1989, Danny started working as an operator for Arco Chemical, where he remained until 2002. He eventually became a landscaper, a job that brought him happiness and peace, andcontinued that vocation until the time of his passing.

Danny was a country boy at heart who was very creative with his hands and an all-around exceptional tradesman. He literally could fix anything and would often say with his chest stuck out “if I can’t fix it, it ain’t broke!” His true passion was his 1966 Chevrolet Impala that he rebuilt, restored, and was seen working on almost daily. It has even been jokingly said that he would break something just to work on this car a little longer.Danny was often seen driving around town in the ‘66 or riding on the lawnmower to cut a neighbor’s lawn.  He had the biggest heart and never met a stranger he was not willing to help.  Family was so important to him and he always let everyone know just how proud he was of his boys!  His future grandchildren have certainly missed out on the honest love he would have shown them.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Dan Huber, Sr.; and grandparents, Raymond “Fat” Lucy Huber and Lillian Huber, and Hubert Price and Lorraine Price.

Left to cherish his memory, Danny is survived by his sons, Tyler Huber and his wife Jordan, and Austin Huber; mother, Patt Haise and her husband Fred; stepmother, Virginia Huber; sisters, Darla Jones and her husband Greg, and Angie Alexander and her husband Les; uncle, Bruce Price and his wife Mary; and numerous other loving family members and close friends.

It’s still really hard to believe. My heart is aching. God must have needed a handyman in Heaven. Rest in peace, to my Son’s Father. We shared many mile stones with our boys, and many more to come. We will lay a flower in your seat and remember you as you watch them from Heaven. Danny, you will always hold a special place in my heart. We shared so many memories, I will cherish. One day the four of us will be together again. Until then…
