Weathers BOB Obit Pic.jpg 1

Robert (Bob) Weathers passed away May 1, 2022 in Waco.  He will be laid to rest at Post Oak Cemetery at 139 FM 1996, Oglesby, TX on Thursday May 5, 2022.  The graveside service will be officiated by Aaron Derrick.  Pallbearers are Aaron Derrick, John Derrick, Cash Lee, Jerry Anderson, Steven Hite, Daniel Doiron.

Bob was born to Robert M. and Vernice Weathers in 1946 in Washington D.C.  Bob was raised as an only child to his military parents.  He lived in many places overseas in his youth including Japan and France before eventually settling in Waco, Texas.  Bob graduated high school from Waco High in 1961.  He began his college courses at University of Texas Austin and finished his studies at Baylor University as an Aeronautical Engineer.  He worked for Bell Helicopter, E-Systems, and Raytheon.  Bob married his wife, Glenna, on June 26, 2004 where he had the joy of experiencing being in a big family.  One thing Bob loved very much was family time, visits, and functions.  His greatest fun was dressing up for Halloween for the family Halloween party and haunted yard.  Bob was an avid Baylor Bear fan and enjoyed going to football games to watch them play.  He had an eclectic taste in art and loved paintings that showed the Texas landscape, bluebonnets being his favorites.  He was a good man and was willing to do anything for anybody.  He stood by his word, was honest and straight-forward.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents Robert MacIntosh Weathers and Vernice Weathers.

He is survived by his wife Glenna of Eddy; daughter, Timi Anderson and husband Jerry of Texas City; son, John Derrick and wife Amy of Hewitt; son, Aaron Derrick and wife Cynthia of Oglesby; daughter, Terri Henson of Waco; grandchildren, Nikki, Jennifer, Charity, Devon, Evan, Alyssa, Haleigh, and several great-grandchildren.

  6. I love you Bob so much and am going to miss you greatly. I loved that you allowed me to spread my wings during college, move to Waco, and stay with you and Lala for a year. I loved getting to know you deeper and develop a closer relationship with you. You treated me exactly like I was a daughter to you. I will never forget your kindness, your joy, and all the memories we got to share together. I love you so much Bob and I’m so glad you get to dance and talk with Jesus, and of course eat the best food you have ever had any time you want.
