Rita Joyce Martinez Flores 87, of Waco, passed away Saturday, August 19, 2023.

Visitation: 6-8PM, Tuesday, August 22, 2023 at Lake Shore Funeral Home Chapel
Rosary: 7PM, Tuesday, August 22, 2023 at Lake Shore Funeral Home Chapel
Mass: 10 AM, Wednesday, August 23, 2023 at Saint Francis Catholic Church
Internment to follow at Oakwood Cemetery. A reception will be at Sacred Heart Catholic church following burial.  All are invited to attend and share their memories of our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, wife, and friend with all.

Rita was born in Waco where she attended local schools and met the love of her life. She and Emmitt were married on May 10, 1954.  She was a loving wife, mother, and homemaker. Emmitt and Rita were long time members of the Sociedad Mutualista de Jornaleros where they were known as ‘Mr. & Mrs. Mojo.’

She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Emmitt Flores Sr; sons, Emmitt Jr. and wife Rose, Steve and wife Vicki, Rickey and wife Ellen; daughters, Dora Lauritzen and husband Karl, Machelle Ancira and husband Carlos; 8 grandchildren, Tammy, Stevie, Rickey Jr, Jeno, Emilio, Carlos (Munch), Michael, Erich and Joseph; and 15 great-grandchildren; sisters, Kathy Martinez and Sandra Martinez; brother, Ralph Martinez all of Phoenix, Arizona; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and many dear friends.
