On December 21, 2023 Richard Wayne Homburg entered eternity after a long and valiant battle with cancer; he was 69 years old.

Richard was born on September 29, 1954 in Waco, Texas and was raised in Guam until he joined the United States Air Force in 1974. He served 23 honorable years and retired at McGuire AFB in New Jersey in 1997. He returned to Waco, TX purchasing five acres to build a home on; this became Akadama Acres. In 2009, he wed his first love, Linda Wall. Together they turned this small acreage into their paradise, hosting their 11 grandbabies and building memories for everyone that passed through.

Richard’s legacy lives on through his beloved wife, Linda; stepmother, Florence (Virgil Fields) Somers; half-brother, Barry (Dana) Diede; two children, Stephanie (W. Frank) Rue and Cameron (Catherine) Homburg; step-daughter, Amiee (Jeff) Henry; and eleven grandchildren, Elijah, Isaac, Jake, Garrett, Zoe, Samuel, Abigail, Victoria, Mark, Benjamin, Violet. Though gone, his memory remains alive through the countless moments of love and compassion he shared with all he called friend.

    So very sorry for you Linda and your family for the loss of Rick! I did not get to know Rick other than him being my brother hanging out four years on surf boards on Guam. We all had Great time our Group of want to be surfers me Terrie Aguilar, Tony my brother, Cam Morgan, Jim Stotts, Steve Thomas, Lel Rice and Jacky Sanders. Wow the fun times we had on Guam. It is very hard to put our husbands to rest. I lost my love 9/20 Cancer is Monster. The last time I spoke to Rick 9/20 he was so kind and made me laugh during my time of loss. You and Rick are in my prayers. I hope Rick can meet my Brad in Heaven ! God Bless us all till we meet again!
