Richard “Kent” Webb, 73, died on January 8, 2024 after a well fought battle with numerous health issues. Kent was born May 10, 1950 in Waco, TX to parents Geraldine Stem and Morris S. Webb. Kent spent most of his childhood years in Bishop after a family move down South. Returning to Waco, Kent graduated Connally High School and went on to complete his HVAC degree at TSTI. He soon after married Leslie Edrington on December 14, 1974. Leslie Edrington Webb preceded him in death June 1, 2016. Kent and Leslie’s final resting place is Sunnyside Cemetery in Calvert, TX.

Kent was proud to serve the Waco area with honesty and integrity through many avenues: Their family owned Edrington’s of Waco serving air conditioning needs for many people and businesses around Waco, as a Reserve Deputy with the McLennan County Sheriff Department and Reserve Officer with Robinson Police Department (1979 MCC Reserve Academy Graduate), Robinson City Council, and Robinson Volunteer Fire Department. A March 1984 Waco Trib article chronicles his time as the shade tree mechanic for Robinson VFD and PD. Kent and Leslie lived the last few decades near Axtell enjoying their many animals, gardening, and tinkering with farm equipment that only Kent could make work. Kent will be remembered for his ability to fix anything. In addition, despite decades living with chronic pain and a myriad of complicated health issues, he’ll also be remembered for his sense of humor and ability to make others laugh.

There will be a celebration of his life on Saturday, February 10, 2024 at 5pm at University Baptist Church, 1701 Dutton Ave in Waco. In the spirit of simplicity, fellowship, and sharing that Kent and Leslie both embodied, it will be a dish to pass gathering (bring a side or a dessert) to share both a meal and memories with those who loved him.

Condolence Messages

  1. He took very good care of our business, Ahlers & Associates, for many years. We valued his friendship.

  2. I will miss my air conditioning repair man and fellow volunteer fire fighter.
Thank you for your service to the Robinson Volunteer Fire Department.

  3. I met Kent and Leslie at church years ago. They were 2 of the kindest, caring and Christian people you could ever meet. Kent had a lot of health issues but always had a smile on his face. He would help anyone he met that was in need. He is in Heaven with Leslie and they are rejoicing with the Lord Jesus. What an awesome man he was. Love in Christ,
    Carol (Epps) Schrader
