An unaccompanied veteran burial means no family members are expected to attend.
Lake Shore Funeral Home will conduct an Unaccompanied Veteran Burial for U.S. Army Veteran Private First Class (PFC) James Earl Pickens. PFC Pickens passed away June 3, 2023. He was born on July 27, 1960, and served in the United States Army from August 1978 to August 1981. PFC Pickens received the Marksman Badge with M16 Rifle Bar and Sharpshooter Badge with Hand Grenade Bar.
Central Texas residents are invited to attend the burial of PFC James Earl Pickens to honor his service for his country. PFC Pickens will receive military honors. If no next-of-kin is present at the burial, the Veterans Land Board on-site representative will accept the United States flag on his behalf.
