Phyllis Pavelka Foster

Phyllis Cheryl Pavelka Foster, 75, peacefully passed away at her home with her family by her side Thursday, December 26, 2019.

Memorial Service: 1:00 pm, Saturday, January 11, 2020, at Lake Shore Funeral Home.

Phyllis was born in 1944 to A. C. and Floy Lorean Steed in Sulphur Springs, TX. They moved to Waco when she was just a young girl. Phyllis graduated from Waco High School. She was a wonderful wife, sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister-in-law, aunt and friend to anyone she met. She was a strong and independent woman who lived for the last 28 years in the home she built near Elm Mott. She and Dave enjoyed going camping, fishing, spending time working in their garden, doing yard work and taking care of their beloved Red Bone hounds.

She was preceded in death by her father, A. C. Steed; mother, Floy Lorean “Nannie” Steed; great-grandson, Zayne Wade and her youngest daughter Kristy Michelle Hyde who passed away on May 10, 2015.

She leaves behind her husband of 25 years, Dave Foster; a wonderful daughter, Debbie Wade and husband, Steve of  China Spring; sister, Sue Wilshire and husband, Richard, of Elm Mott; three grandsons, Michael Wade and wife, Tiffani and their daughter, Shayli of Tyler, Texas, Daniel Wade and wife, Kelsi and their sons, Brazos and Zen of McGregor, Texas, and Kasey Wayne Hyde and wife, Julie and their sons, KW Jett, and Connor of Temple, Texas; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend a very special thanks to the Fresenius Kidney Dialysis Center in Bellmead for the excellent care they provided her with her dialysis treatments.

In lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Elm Mott Fire & Rescue at P. O. Box 46, Elm Mott, Texas.

  4. I worked with Phyllis at Bentwood Farm in the mid 1980s. She was so warm and kind and funny. She and many others at the farm made me feel welcome and at home even though I was not a Texas native. I look back on those years fondly.

  5. Phyllis was the best Sister-in-Law anyone could ever ask for, she was one of the kindest and genuine ladies I’ve ever known. I”ll never forget her calling me her “Best BIL”…..hope ya catch the biggest fish in Heaven……….
