Peter Hugus

Peter Hugus was born on January 6, 1955 in Newport, Rhode Island.  He was 64 when God called him home on February 17, 2019 in Waco, Texas, and we are comforted that he is cancer and pain free.

Service Information: To be announced at a later date.

He was a Christian man and lived by the principles and values that he held close because God was in his heart.

He worked for Bechtel Corporation for 39 years which allowed him and his family to live across the USA and Australia.  Due to his work they experienced wonderful adventures.  He lived life to the fullest, but his focus was always what was best for his family. We never doubted how Peter felt about us because he constantly expressed it to Gena and his children.

He is survived by his wife, Gena; daughter, Meredith Beliveau; son, Austin Hugus; and brothers, James  “Chip” Hugus and Steve Hugus.

He will be missed more than words can express. We love him very much and will see his handsome face someday.

In lieu of flowers you are welcome to honor Peter by donating to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network or CaringBridge.org in Peter’s name.

  10. Gena, I am so sorry and in shock as I am sure you are. Peter was a dear man. One that cared for others and always looked out for those that reported to him. His logical thinking and easy, soft spoken ways, caused others around him to remain calm and work together toward a common good. I realized that I had known you and Peter for almost 30 years. Although our kids never met, we knew about each of their ups and downs.

Please know Lee and I are thinking of you.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Peter was an inspiration and a gentleman. He always maintained a calm demeanor in the midst of a storm, and he did it with a smile on his face. He is missed so much by his Bechtel family; but we agree with you … we are happy he is pain free again.
