Paul Garcia

PaulGarcia 1

Paul Garcia was born May 8, 1961 in Waco. He passed away Saturday, January 8, 2022.

Paul attended Connally High School and TSTC. He was the loving husband of Kim Branch Garcia; father of Paul Patrick Garcia and wife Maria Pavelka Garcia; caring stepdad to Noe, Joe Garza, Chad Miller and Tristin Bainter; Papa to grandchildren, Elijah, Sophia, Brycen, Chance, Chase, and Bailey.

Paul was one of the most selfless people you could ever meet. He was a gentle giant with a heart of gold. He loved everyone and always put others before himself. Paul’s retreat and enjoyment came while on “The Slice of Life” his houseboat, where he fished and relaxed with his loving wife Kim and family members.

Paul was a lifetime professional welder who loved his craft. He worked 25+ years at KD Manitou, eight years as a welding shop supervisor at Young Brothers Construction. He worked several years with Fluor in Rockdale, TX. The last 12 years he was employed by TSTC as supervisor over Housing Maintenance.

He was preceded in death by father, Gilbert Garcia Sr. and survived by mother, Louise Garcia both from Waco.

Paul will be greatly missed by his mother-in-law, Sandy Branch; children, Lisa, Leigh, Rick, and family. Paul held a very special place among his nine birth siblings, who are very tightly woven together, Gilbert Jr., Diana, Gabriel, Gracie, Paul, Karen, Dolores, Jimmy and Rudy Garcia; sibling spouses, Belinda, Tony, Roger and Kristen; and countless nieces and nephews who will all miss his presence and laughter at family gatherings.

Pallbearers who will lay their dearly loved uncle to rest are JJ, Joseph, Joe Jr., Jesse, Matthew, Milton, Alex, Anthony, Gilbert Ray and Lenny.

Honorary Pallbearers will be grandsons, Elijah, and Brycen; and nephews, Braxton, Benjy, and Brady.

  16. Dear Garcia Family,
I have been privileged to work beside Paul for the last 12 years.
He was a dedicated co-worker, a good man and a great friend.
His passion for people and care for others was palpable in every conversation and interaction we had.
You can tell what a person loves, cherishes and holds most dear as those things, people and places always tend to come up in every conversation. Rare was the conversation I had with Paul when family did not come up. He exuded pride, protectiveness and love when the conversation drifted to Kim, kids, siblings, all his cherished family. I always new what mattered most to Paul, family. (followed by time on his boat!)
We are all poorer for his loss but I consider myself richer for having been able to count Paul as my friend.
You have my most heart felt condolences.
    Jeremiah Bland
