Melvin Revis, 90, passed away Thursday, June 29, 2023, with his loved ones by his side.

Visitation:  5pm to 7pm Friday, July 14, 2023 at Lake Shore Funeral Home

Funeral Service:  12pm Saturday, July 15, 2023 at Living Word Church of God in Christ, 1005 Dunbar Ave

Interment:  Doris Miller Memorial Park

He was born October 11, 1932, in Leroy Texas to Claude L. and Allie M, Revis. Both parents preceded him in death. Mr. Revis attended and graduated from A.J. Moore High School. He was the quarterback for the football team. After graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Army. He spent four years in service and obtained the rank of Staff Sergeant. After his military service, Mr. Revis attended and graduated from Fresno City College, where he majored in Industrial Supervision. After his graduation from college, he became an Aerospace and Aircraft employee with General Dynamics. While employed there, he was sent to various states before his retirement.

In 1983, Mr, Revis returned to Waco where he worked several jobs. He met and married Lois Sharp Washington.

He was a great sportsman with a love for football, baseball, and golf.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Revis was preceded in death by his brothers, Claude Revis, Billy Revis, T.J. Scott and Clarence Giddings, two sisters Stella Mae Giddings, Connie Thomas.

Mr. Revis leaves to cherish his memories, his loving and devoted wife, Lois Revis. His sons, Sherwood Revis, Wayne Revis (Sharon), Sacramento, CA, Michael Revis (Tanisia), Grand Prairie, TX, and Darrell Washington (LeJeune), Houston, TX. Daughters, Melva Revis-Pitts, Dallas, TX, Gladys Davis (Charles), Canzetta Washington and Debra Garrett (Ernest) of Waco.

Devoted grandchildren, DeMarion Washington, Houston, TX, Donnie Washington (Racquel), De’Endre Garrett (Nina), Tammy Carter (Lawrence) all of Waco and a host of other grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Brother-in-law, Jesse Sharp (Delores), Fort Worth, TX; Sister-in-laws, Ora Belle Davis, Waco, Susie Sharp-Taylor, Elm Mott, TX, Sarah Lewis (Thomas), Fort Worth, TX and Vera Giddings, Waco, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends
