Mary Singer

Mary Singer, 94, of Markham, Texas, passed away Monday, October 14, 2019 at Clifton Nursing and Rehab in Clifton, Texas.

Service Information: Graveside services will be held at a later date in the National Cemetery in Houston, Texas.

Mary was born on April 26, 1925 to the late Harvey and Clara (Chandler) Pyle in Bay City, Texas. Mary married Robert “Bob” Singer on December 17, 1942. They were married 46 years until Bob’s death in 1989. Mary and Bob lived in Markham, Texas where she was a homemaker. Mary loved to sew, work in the garden, canning the things that were grown in the garden, read and when she couldn’t see to read, she loved listening to books on tapes.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Singer; parents, Harvey and Clara Pyle; son-in-law, Raymond Shepard and great-granddaughter in law, Kristie Huffman.

She survived by her daughter, Ann Shepard of Markham; grand-daughters, Debbie Conner and husband, Clifton Conner of Waco, and  Mary Shepard of Markham; great-grandsons, Derrick Huffman of Clifton and Bobby Shepard and wife, Megan of Liberty; great-granddaughters, Kelly and Ashley Huffman both of Bryan; Seven great-great-grandchildren, Bryson, Cheyenne, Shaina, Cassie, Lilly, Aubrey and Cloyce; special friends, William and Margie Parks of Markham.

She will be missed by all who knew her.

Special thanks to Larissa Montes and Ashley Porter as well as the staff from Clifton Nursing and Rehab in Clifton and Clifton Sunset Hospice for taking great care of Mary.
