Mary Ann Unger, 81, of Corsicana passed away peacefully on December 7, 2023 at The Village at Heritage Oaks. She was born on August 25, 1942 in Fort Meyers, Florida to Rev. William M. Hunter and Florence Lillian (Pollack) Hunter.

She attended college at Tusculum College, Greenville, Tennessee, and graduated with a Bachelor’s of Arts. She received a Master’s of Arts in Languages (Spanish and French) from West Virginia University, Morgantown, West Virginia.

Mary Anne had started playing piano and pipe organ at a very young age, and had played for many churches in the many places she has lived.

She was a member of Believer’s Bible Church of Corsicana where she played piano and was a member of the women’s small group.

She is survived by her son, LeRoy Hunter Unger of Corsicana, Texas; as well as her sister, Florence (Hunter) Flanagan, of Swords, County Dublin, Ireland, and six nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her first husband, Curtis Leon Unger; parents, Rev. William M. Hunter and Florence Lillian Hunter; as well as her second husband, Clyde Ray Cockrell.

Celebration of Life for Mary Ann will be held at Believer’s Bible Church at 1:00 pm on January, 14 2024. Meal will be served prior.
