Margaret Thane

Thane 001

Memorial Service: 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 27, 2014 at Zion Lutheran Church, 503 W 6th street in McGregor, TX

Margaret Adele (Veith) Thane passed away Friday, September 19th, 2014 after a heroic battle with breast cancer, surrounded by friends and family.

Known to her friends as “Peggy”, she was born in Atlanta, GA on March 11th, 1965 and graduated from Lake Highlands High School, Dallas, Texas in 1983. She moved to McGregor , TX after her marriage to David in 1994, and worked as PEIMS Coordinator at H.G. Isbill Junior High. She loved her job and was dedicated to her community, but the job that mattered to her most, was that of a wife and mother. Her “center” was always her family, and “home” her true heart. She was loved by all for her positive personality, her sense of humor, and her ability for true friendship, and through all the trials of her illness, never lost her wit, faith, or beautiful smile. She will be greatly missed.

Peggy was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Adele Veith.

She is survived by her husband, David P. Thane; daughters Kaci and Camryn of McGrgeor; sisters Mrs. Jan Vieger of Dallas, Texas and Mrs. Pam Churchill of Allen, Texas; Aunt Michele Janko of Atlanta, Georgia; three nieces; three nephews; two great nephews; and an abundance of loving family.

    Thane Family,

  9. David, Kaci and Camryn – though we really haven’t spent time together, I want you to know that Peggy’s Kansas cousins thought the world of her. She was always a joy to be around when we were able to get together. We would tease her and we would all laugh about her southern “ya’ll” comments. Peggy was the best – such a great smile – and she will always be in our thoughts and prayers.

Pam and Jan – wish I could be there for the services on Saturday. Know that Peggy, her family and each of you are in our thoughts/prayers.

    Tim (now a Michigan cousin)

  10. Am so sorry to hear of the death of your daughter-in-law. My sympathy to you and to your son and grandchildren.
Keeping all of you in my prayers / Blessings, Joyce

I am so sorry that I couldn’t be there for Peggy’s service. She was such a beautiful person and will leave an open
space in our family that can never be filled. I will remember her fondly and will be praying for you during this
    time.

    David, Kaci and Camryn,
Please know that while we haven’t met you are still being thought of and prayed for by people who loved
Peggy and will miss her. May God grant you peace during this difficult time.

    Kris (Kansas cousin)

  12. My heart is heavy for your loss, a wife mother, sister, aunt and a dear friend. My thoughts are with you. May you find peace and comfort in the coming days.

  13. Bill Congdon, Jr.

Jan and Pam, I am so sorry that we cannot be there for Peggy’s service. Last Friday we were in Dallas for my wife Candi’s sister’s memorial service on Saturday when we received word of Peggy’s passing. I want you to know how sorry we are for your loss. You are in our prayers at this difficult time. Peggy was such a wonderful person, much to young to leave us but The Lord has big plans for her I am sure. I will always treasure the times I was able to spend around your mother and dad and you three girls. I want you to know we love you and feel your pain. Bill (another Kansas cousin)

    To the Thane family,

All of my boys knew Mrs.Thane and I met her quiet a few times. With my busy schedule and not being able to look at my phone I was unaware that this wonderful and giving woman had passed away.
She will be missed and now her beautiful daughters can carry on her legacy. Gonna miss you. Prayers sent to the Thane family. Resy in peace sweet angel.

  16. Y’all will always be included in my prays! I love your family, greatly and y’all mean so much to me! I can only imagine what it was like when Mrs. Thane entered heaven and saw the face of God. I always wonder what I would do or what it would be like. Mrs. Thane was a wonderful woman
