Lillian Jean Taylor Roddy, 79, of Riesel, was called by God to Heaven where she received her wings Thursday, December 21, 2023.

Visitation: 6-8PM Friday, December 29 at Lake Shore Funeral Home Chapel.

Funeral Service: 1PM Saturday, December 30 at Lake Shore Funeral Home Chapel, Burial will follow at Goshen Cemetery in Riesel.

She was (affectionately known as Baby Jean and Red Devil) born May 3, 1944 in Harrison Switch, TX to Albert and Lillian Taylor. She was the youngest of nine children. She attended Riesel and A.J. Moore High School, where she was known as a basketball star! She joined Goshen Presbyterian Church at a young age and was a member of the Usher Board.

July 5, 1964, Lillian married her grade school classmate, Raymond Roddy, and from this union six children were born: four sons and two daughters.

Lillian was a carpenter, an amazing cook, and a cheerleader for her children and grandchildren’s sports and school events. She loved playing Bingo, gardening, working in her flower beds, listening to music and dancing!

She was preceded in death by her parents; and seven siblings, Margret Degrate, Mary Pruitt, Blanche Williams, Warnell Taylor, Alfred Taylor, William “Alonzo” Taylor and Larry Taylor.

She leaves to carry on her legacy her husband of 61 years, Raymond Roddy, Sr.; children, Raymond Roddy, Jr., Kimberly J. Roddy, Rickie L. (Tiffhanie) Roddy, Randy N. Roddy, Ronnie J. Roddy and Karla K. Roddy; sister, Faye Etta Howard; brothers-in-law, Jerry Roddy, Roosevelt “Bug” Roddy; sisters-in-law, Rose (George) Hannah, Velma (Kenneth) Manual, Ethyl Roddy, Phyllis (Michael) Guyton and Lydia Roddy; 12 grandchildren, Shandrell Ritchie, Xavier Canada, Rickie Roddy, Jr.,  Ronnie Roddy, Jr., DaQuwan Mackey, Kerria Mackey, Chance Roddy, Brock Canada, Tarah Roddy, Ryan Roddy, Kinsley Roddy and Rosston Roddy; 12 great-grandchildren, Keyandre Roddy, Zayden Roddy, Alana Ritchie, Malia Roddy, Casey Roddy, Logan Roddy, Preston Roddy, Belle Ritchie, Braxton Roddy, Tyson Roddy, Roman Roddy and Anna Leigh Roddy; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
