Leon Walter Kroll, 86, of Waco, passed away Wednesday, March 26, 2014. Visitation will take place from 2 – 4pm, Sunday, March 30th, at Lake Shore Funeral Home, 5201 Steinbeck Bend in Waco. Funeral services will be held at 10am, Monday, March 31st, at Lake Shore Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Jim Price officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Leon Walter Kroll was born on October 10, 1927 in Waco to Gus and Annie (Hebbe) Kroll. He was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church, and had been since his childhood. On October 21st, 1950, he married Elizabeth Nadine Light, and together they had one son. Leon was a man of many hats…. He was a farmer by nature, worked in road construction, and was a long-time employee for both the Coca Cola Bottling Company and Mrs. Baird’s Bread, eventually retiring after 22 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Mildred Belcher and Irene Nolan; three brothers, Herman Kroll, Herbert Kroll, and Leslie Kroll.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Elizabeth Kroll of Waco; son, Elbert Kroll; and many other family members and friends.

Pallbearers will be Clayton McMillan, Daniel Nolan, Dana Light, Ronald Kroll, Alton Kroll, and Tommy Kroll.
