Joe Mashburn, 81, of Waco, passed away Saturday, October 18, 2008 at a local hospital. Graveside services will be 2PM Tuesday, October 21st at Bosqueville Cemetery with Rev. Mark Wible officiating. Visitation will be 10AM to 12 Noon Tuesday at Lake Shore Funeral Home, 5201 Steinbeck Bend in Waco. Thoughts and memories may be shared in the online Guest Book at www.LakeShoreFuneralHome.com.

Joe and his wife Ruby celebrated 27 years of marriage this year. Joe retired after 20 years of service in the U.S. Air Force as a Technical Sergeant. He later went to work for Estes Chemical Company, and retired after 20 years of service. His favorite thing to do was spending time with family and friends. He never missed a recital, birthday, graduation, wedding, or celebration. He enjoyed talking with family about his world travels while serving in the military. He will be fondly remembered as a loving husband, father, devoted grandfather, and proud great-grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Leroy Mashburn.

Survivors include wife, Ruby Jewel Mashburn; daughters, Elizabeth Hicks and husband, A.C., and Paula Ruth Richter and husband, Clarence; granddaughters, Tiffany Guy and husband, Richard, and Whitney Richter; great granddaughter, Kaylee Jewel Guy; and sisters, Francine Sterbenz and Sylvia May.

A special thank you goes to the Hillcrest 4A nurses, Social Services, physicians, associates, ER, radiology, Fentress Cancer Center, and Hillcrest Community Hospice staff for all their hard work, love, and concern.
