Jimmy Ray McKown, 83, of Seabrook, Texas, passed away Thursday, May 13, 2021 at his son’s residence in China Spring.

Visitation: 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 22, at First Baptist Church McGregor, 700 W. 6th Street, in McGregor.

Memorial Service: 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 22, at First Baptist Church McGregor.

Jimmy was born October 1, 1937 in Waco to Cecil Eugene McKown and Maud Meek McKown. Jimmy proudly served his country in the US Navy. Later, he and his brothers owned and operated a welding shop in McGregor for many years prior to his career as a professional trucker. He moved to Seabrook, Texas and lived on a his sailboat. Jimmy loved to drive from Texas to Wyoming and then onto North Carolina to visit his many friends. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Jimmy is survived by his son, Chris McKown and his wife, Pamela of China Spring; daughter, Kay Thomson of Newton, North Carolina; son, Scott McKown and his wife, Sherry of Hickory, North Carolina; son, Patrick McKown of McGregor; sister, Ann Andreason and her husband, Andy of McGregor; sister, Nancy McKown Gilmore and her husband, Sonny; brothers, Alex McKown and wife, Catherine, Bobby McKown and wife, Portia of Oglesby, Cecil Butch McKown and his wife, Diane of El Paso and Carl McKown and his wife, Kathy of Fort Worth; and his ex-wife, Eula McKown.

Memorials in Jimmy’s memory may be directed to Taylor Lake Christian Church Disciples of Christ, 1730 Old Kirby Rd, Seabrook, Texas 77586
