Jimmy Don Doshier, 80, of McGregor, passed away Thursday, October 26, 2023 in Waco.

Funeral Service: 11AM Wednesday, November 1 at Moody Church of Christ.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.

Jimmy was born August 29, 1943 in Moody to J.H. and Opal (Rea) Doshier. He graduated from Stephenville High School in 1963. After a short time in the Air Force, he lived on his grandfather’s ranch and helped him for three years. He worked at Artco Bell in Temple for eight years. He then moved to Dublin and worked at Genut building auto parts. He worked in Fort Worth at a furniture rental company, a farm in Arizona, and back to Fort Worth making plastic checkbook holders.

He met and married Maudie (Goolsby) Caroll in 1984 in Palestine. They moved to Moody in 1990 to help on his parents’ ranch. Maudie was the love of his life. They enjoyed going to church, ranching, gardening, growing grapes, and their border collie “Colleen.”

Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Maudie; sister, Wanda (Doshier) Denio; and brother-in-law, Kenneth Gaines.

He is survived by sisters, Betty Brien and husband Pete Brien of Hearne, Connee Holcomb and husband Danny Holcomb of Kerrville; brother, Larry Doshier and wife Laura Doshier of McGregor; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews; and great-great nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Brien, David Stratta, Ronnie Gaines, Mark Doshier, Josh Hilliard, and Steven Stratta.

Honorary pallbearers will be Gary Gaines, James Brien, John Brien, Daniel Holcomb, David Gaines, Darren Marcus, Luke Holcomb, Jaxson Gaines, Dusty Holcomb, Duane Holcomb and Dean Hilliard.

Memorials may be given to Foster’s Home for Children, 1779 N. Graham St., Stephenville, TX 76401
