Jay Von Paris, 83, of Axtell, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 with his daughter by his side.

Funeral Service: 10AM, Monday, January 29, 2024, Lakeshore Funeral Home, burial to follow at Waco Memorial Park

Jay was born in Coolidge, Texas on August 12, 1940 to W.C. (Jack) Paris and Lillie Mae (Pavelka) Paris.

He graduated from Riesel High School. Early in his career he worked as a welder with his dad at Central Texas Ironworks. He later became a police officer for the Waco Police Department until 1972 when he then began working for TU Electric as a control room operator where he retired. Jay married Patsy Ruth Paris on November 28, 1992 in Las Vegas, Nevada and they were happily married for 26 years.

In his spare time he loved farming on the family ranch, fishing, barbecuing, and spending time with family. In later years he loved looking out his windows at the lake and wildlife. He also loved doing puzzles and researching coins.

Jay was preceded in death by, his parents, W.C. Jack and Lillie Mae Paris; wife, Patsy Ruth Paris; brother, Robert Paris; and son, Rodney Wayne Paris.

He is survived by his daughters, Pamela Wood, Sunny Ehler and husband Keith; son, Jason Paris and wife Melissa; grandchildren, Ashton Wood, A.J. Putney and wife Felicia, Brett Putney, Dakota, Christian and Jay Paris; great grandchildren, Charlotte and Leighton Putney; and a very special friend, Alice Shelburn and family.
