J D Lamb, 89, of Mexia, went home to be with the Lord on Monday July 31,2017.

J D was born November 13,1927 in Streetman to Everett Edward and Anna Laura Lamb. In January 1963 he married his wife of 46 years, Ouida Jonell (Calame) Lamb. Together they raised their two sons and one daughter. J D served in the US Army as a part of the 32nd Infantry Regiment, 7th Div. in Korea. He worked most of his life in the oil field as a rough necker and a mud hauler. JD was a hard worker and taught his children to do the same. He loved the outdoors and country living. He loved his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren with all of his heart. On May 28, 2000 JD accepted the Lord Jesus into his heart; and he was never the same. He was a tireless faithful worker and member of Rock Creek Church. He will be remembered and missed by all.

J D was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ouida Jonell (Calame) Lamb; one son, John Douglas Lamb; one great grandchild; four brothers, Everett Lee, Charles Edward, Billy Bob and Thomas Roy; one sister, Annie Estelle.

Pallbearers will be J D’s grandsons, Michael Waller Jr., Timothy Griffin, Clint Griffin, Jacob Prickett and Blake Damman, and also friends David McCorkle and Glen Griffin.
