Doris Hamlin, 80, of Lacy Lakeview, left us on Thursday, July 27, 2023, to be with the Lord.

Funeral Service: 10AM, Monday, July 31, 2023, at Lake Shore Funeral Home Chapel
Interment: Following Service at Driver Cemetery, near Teague.

Doris was born on May 5th, 1943, and raised in Stuttgart, Germany. It was there she met the love of her life, Clifford Daniel (Dan) Hamlin while he was stationed in Germany serving in the United States Army. Soon the young married couple moved to Lacy Lakeview Texas and began to start their family. Doris devoted her life to raising her family and was a wonderful person that would do anything for her family and friends. Doris was also a patriot, who loved our Country, one of the proudest moments of her life was when she obtained her American citizenship.  

Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Dan Hamlin; son, Joesph (Joe) Hamlin; daughter-in law, Kelly Annett Hamlin; parents, Aris and Emily Baumgartner; sister-in-law, Hazel Hamlin

Doris is survived by her devoted family who loves her and will miss her very much. sons, James (Jimmy) and Charles (Chuck) Hamlin of Lacey Lakeview TX; grandchildren, Rachael, Kayla, Courtney and Daniel Lee Hamlin of Lacey Lakeview TX; nieces, Paula Hamlin of Lacey Lakeview TX, Susan Hamlin Freeman and husband Darren of Santa Fe, TX, Stacey Hamlin of Lacey Lakeview TX; nephew, Stephen (Kelly) Hamlin of Santa Fe, TX; sisters, Renate Banmgaertner of Plainfield, New Jersey, and Ziggy Banmgaertner of Stuttgart, Germany; brother-in-law, Sammy Hamlin of Lacey Lakeview TX.

    Doris had been our neighbor for 40 yrs. She was mom at times, block monitor, friend & family by choice. In a way she raised us too. And really enjoyed being helpful as we raised our family. She was fun, funny, loving & definately a hard worker. We loved her & she will be greatly missed. So happy having her as a part in ours lives. Beautiful Pic by the way
