Dennis Joseph Rajkowski, 76, of Woodway, passed away August 21, 2023, at a local hospital.

A celebration of his life will be held at Lake Shore Funeral Home, 5201 Steinbeck Bend in Waco, Friday, August 25, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. The viewing will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Lake Shore Funeral Home on August 24,2023.

Dennis was born March 7, 1947, in St. Cloud, Minnesota to Angeline (Jochum) and Henry Rajkowski. Dennis served in the Navy on the USS Enterprise from 1968-1971. He received the following medals during his service; National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal (Korea), Navy Unit Commendation Medal, and RVNAFMUC medal. After the military Dennis moved to Waco and worked for the Veterans Affairs Hospital for thirty three years until his retirement. Dennis married Charlene Ann (Blais) Rajkowski on September 16, 1967. They remained married until Charlene’s death of February 4, 2005. Dennis remarried Marilyn (Buchanan) Rajkowski on March 21, 2017, and remained married until Dennis’ death.

Dennis enjoyed hunting, gardening, the occasional casino, Texas Lottery, any good sales, spending time with his family, traveling, and tormenting the occasional squirrels that dared to enter his yard. Dennis lived life to the fullest and did not like to waste daylight.

Dennis is preceded in death by his wife, Charlene and their son, Dean; brothers, David, John (Huntz), and Ronald Rajkowski; and his parents, Angeline and Henry Rajkowski.

Dennis is survived by his loving wife, Marilyn; children, Tammy (Rajkowski) Johnston and husband Jason, Todd Rajkowski and wife Kellie, Tommy Rajkowski and wife Lori; grandchildren, Meagan Parrish, Madison (Parrish) Fentress and husband Charles, Hunter Rajkowski and wife Bethany, Taylor Rajkowski, Jackson Rajkowski, Tyler Rajkowski, Beau Green and wife Kayla, Jacob Holley; along with great grandchildren, Kyler and Sage. Additional family would include his sisters Debra (Rajkowski) Funk and Barb (Rajkowski) Hammers; brothers, Donald, Jim, and Richard Rajkowski; brother-in-law, Joseph Blais, and many other relatives and friends.

Dennis was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who will be deeply missed.
