David Wayne Davis

David Wayne Davis, a business owner and life-long resident of Waco, went to be with our Lord and Savior in the early morning hours of July 5, 2020 at the age of 55 while at home with his family.

Visitation:  5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 8, at Lake Shore Funeral Home

Graveside Service:  Private family gathering Thursday, July 9, 2020

Dave was born January 15, 1965 in Fort Worth to Don and Patti Davis. He has an older brother, Mark Davis. Thereafter, the family moved to China Spring, where they currently reside. Dave graduated from China Spring High School where he was an multi-sport awarded athlete. From there, he went on to graduate from Baylor University and has always remained an avid Baylor Bear fan. Dave met his wife, Marti, when they were in elementary school and their love story remained on an uphill path from that moment on. They were wed on December 20, 1986. They welcomed their son, Zach, into this world on September 5, 1990 and their daughter, Sydney, into this world on February 25, 1993. His family has always been the most important part of his life.

Dave was a devoted father and took such pride in his children and their accomplishments. He adored his grandson, Sawyer, and the feeling was reciprocated in how much Sawyer loved his Pappy. The memories they made together will continue on in Sawyer’s heart for the rest of his life. He enjoyed being outdoors, watching sports with his son, barbequing and cooking for the masses, spending quality time with his daughter, and traveling with his wife and family. Dave was known for his uplifting and happy outlook on “Vacation Season”. The unconditional love he had for Marti was evident in everything Dave did. He also took pride in being a problem-solver who often took on difficult and challenging projects at work and around the house. He had an unmatchable work ethic and has left a legacy throughout the restoration business all over the country. He was a God fearing man who is leaving behind a strong and memorable legacy that we will continue to honor on a daily basis. He will be deeply missed by his friends, family, and all who knew him.

Dave is survived by his wife, Marti Davis; his son, Zach and daughter-in-law, Lindsey Davis; his daughter, Sydney Davis; his parents, Don and Patti Davis; his brother, Mark and wife, Dedra Davis; his grandson, Sawyer Davis; and his many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like for donations to be made to the American Heart Association in honor of Dave Davis.

  2. Its hard to keep the faith when we have the best of the best taken from us too soon. Losing my mother at this same age felt like something was stolen from me and from her as well. We can however keep the faith and we must. What a blessed and happy life he had for 55 years. God took him home too soon but blessed him and his family forever.

  10. The Good Lord has taken a great man way too early to go home to be with the Lord. I have known Dave my entire life. Dave and I were very close when we were in elementary school and then when he moved to China Spring and I did not see him near as much. But luckily Dave and his family started going to Crestview Church of Christ when we were 14 or 15 and my friendship strengthened once again. We had some great times after church and also on our church mission trips to Paonia, Colorado in high school. Dave never had a mean thing to say about anyone. He always had a smile on his face and was just a great guy to be around. He was a great friend and he will be sorely missed. I wished that I could have seen him lately. Dave you will be missed my friend. I love you and I miss you!

I will be praying for Marti, Don, Patti, Mark, his kids and his grandson. God Bless the Davis Family during this trying time. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

    In Him,

    Cliff Dulock

I knew Dave going all of the way back to high school when we played football against each other. He was at China Spring and I was at Robinson. Dave was a good player and made the Super-Centex team his senior year. After I graduated from Baylor in 1988 Dave and I re-connected and we did business together for 30 years. We always signed our emails “FAMILY”. Dave was a man of integrity and character. Dave was loyal and a good friend and I will miss him dearly.

Dave was nothing short of a force in life…his love for Marti was an example to all who knew them, his love for his family in general was legendary, and his zest for life was virtually unparelled…

We are covering Marti, Zach, and Sydney, and the rest of Dave’s family in our prayers. He left this world too soon, but left behind a tremendous example of how to live life to it’s fullest.
