Charles Yerger, Sr., of West, passed away on Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at his residence. Services will be 2 p.m. Monday, June 11th at Lake Shore Funeral Home Chapel with Rick Lowe, Chaplain Ron Hill, Rev. Ron Oden, and Rev. Joseph Neeley officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park with full military honors rendered by the U.S. Air Force. Visitation will be 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, June 10th, at Lake Shore Funeral Home, 5201 Steinbeck Bend in Waco. Charles was born October 18, 1928 in Lauderdale, PA. to Walter and Ethel (Boyer) Yerger. He married Dorothy Woodruff on February 15, 1958, in San Angelo. For the next 25 years they travelled the world with U.S. military. After military retirement in 1971, they moved to Lacy Lakeview. He then worked for John Deere Agricultural Sales and Service in Waco for 21 years, retiring in 1990.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Dorothy Yerger; his parents; sisters, Jean and Joan.
Survivors include daughter, Ellena Borel and husband, David; sons Charlie Yerger, Jr. and wife, Sandy, Glenn Yerger and wife, Gaylona, and Brandon Yerger and wife, Lesly; grandchildren, Bethanie, Courtney, Skylar and fiance, Jessica, Jessica Roy and husband, Kyle, Ashley and Izabella; great-grandchildren, Kody, Kallie; sisters, Joyce Bair and husband, Harry, June Raihl and husband, Dave, Jane Kerns, Judy Nester; and brother, Donald Yerger and wife, Rusty.

    Was sad to hear of your dad’s passing. Heard from your pastor that he had a truly wonderful spirit during his suffering.
