Charles Louis Fedro, 82, of China Spring went to be with the Lord Friday, October 13, 2023.
Visitation: 6 – 8PM Wednesday, October 18 at Lake Shore Funeral Home
Funeral Service: 1PM Thursday, October 19 at Northside Church of Christ 2500 Parrish St., Waco, Texas 76705. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
Charlie was born on April 18, 1941, in McLennan County. Born to Mortimer “Pat” Hadley and Bennie Fedro. He had a younger brother, James “Buddy” Fedro. Charlie was three years old when he lost his father as a casualty of WWII. His brother, Buddy heroically lost in Vietnam. Pat later married Johnny Marek and had Gary “Hank” Marek. Charlie was raised in Axtell and attended Axtell schools. He graduated from Axtell High School in 1959. He was active in all sports, excelling in pole vaulting. He attended drafting design at Navarro College. Charlie married his high school sweetheart, Darla Faye Watkins, August 19, 1960, at the age of 19. They raised four beautiful children. He enjoyed family, home cooked meals, camping, hunting and riding motorcycles. His mechanical career in Heating and Air conditioning led him to pursue a successful business in 1980 spanning 42 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Bennie Fedro and Mortimer “Pat” Hadley; stepfather, Johnny Marek; brothers, James “Buddy” Fedro and Gary Marek; son, Michael Fedro; great-granddaughter, Athena Barrett; and loving wife of 63 years, Darla Fedro.
He is survived by his children, Charlotte Fedro, Tim Fedro and wife Shelly, Ronnie Fedro and wife Melissa; grandchildren, Kristin Fedro, Brady Fedro, Evan Fedro, Casey Fedro, Kandace Barrett, and Kalyn Fedro; great-grandchildren, Gavin, Oliva, Madeline, Ash, Lexi, Jordan, Kylie, Kaleb, and Jamie.
He was a wonderful father and a loving and selfless man, who will be missed by all. In lieu of flowers, family requests donations be made to Northside Church of Christ in Bellmead, Texas.
