We often referred to Charles as Uncle Charles. He attended Clearview High school in Easley, South Carolina. Later he was placed in the Pickens County Disability and Special Need Institution until his health declined, resulting in a move to Waco,  with his niece, Catherine Martin, and late brother, James Martin.

Uncle Charles was a faithful member of the Goldenview Baptist Church in Clemson, South Carolina. He attended several other churches in South Carolina, touching the hearts of those around him. The relationship he had with God was no secret. You would often catch him carrying around his bible and sharing his wisdom. His favorite song was Amazing Grace. The love our Uncle Charles gave will never be forgotten as he came into our lives with love and kindness. The smiles, laughter, and tears of joy will forever live in our hearts. We will all  miss him, but as his sincere faith in God was strong, we understand that God needed him much more.

We remember Uncle Charles as the life of the party at family events. Always Happy! The joy and presents he brought into our lives will be greatly missed.

Those left to cherish his sweet memories a niece, Catherine Martin; five great-nieces and nephews, LaTavia Martin, Felicia Martin-Omar, Charles Lott, Diamond Martin, and Marcus Henry; five great/great-nieces and nephews, Messiah Martin, Azariah and Zion Omar, Percy Broussard, and Ivy Martin, and other relatives in Clemson, South Carolina.
