Brenda June (Laudick) Gay 68, of Waco, passed away Thursday, December 28, 2023, at her home.

Military Service: 11AM, Tuesday, January 16, 2024 at Texas State Veterans Cemetery 11463 SH-195, Killeen, Texas 76542

Brenda was born July 26, 1955 in Batesville, IN. Brenda was known for her beautiful smile, love for helping others, dancing, singing, and overall enjoying life at every moment. Her moto was “No backing down, no waiting until tomorrow.”

She enlisted in the Army in 1975 and served in active duty until 1978. Later she would retire from the Texas Army National Guard in 1996. Brenda served many veterans at the Temple and Waco VA Campus. She retired after 32 years of service in 2013.

Mom met no strangers and helped anyone in need without questions or judgement with her “no one left behind” mentality. She had a pure love for life, with a steady stream of energy working tirelessly and spending all her non-working hours with her family and friends. Brenda was truly loved and treasured by everyone she encountered in life.

Brenda was proceeded in death by her mother; father; and brothers; Paul Laudick, and Jamie Jobe.

She is survived by her son, Nathaniel Gay; daughter in law, Stephanie Gay; grandchildren, Callie Gay, and Liam Gay; sister, Connie Cooper; and five brothers, Sammy McMurray, Eddie McMurray, Tony McMurray, Robbie McMurray, and David McMurray.

    BJ will always be so special in my heart. She helped me navigate my way through my first “real” job at the VA and then became a friend for life, even when I moved away for 20 years. The world is a little less friendly without her In it. But she is able-bodied again and sharing her smile with all the other angels
