Bobby Storm

Bobby 2

Bobby Dale Storm, age 73, of China Spring passed away on Friday, February 3, 2023, at home.

Funeral Services: 10AM Thursday, February 9, 2023,  at Lake Shore Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Keith Reid officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Bosqueville Cemetery.

For those attending, honor Bobby by wearing China Spring Blue.

Visitation: 6 to 8PM Wednesday, February 8, 2023 at Lake Shore Funeral Home.

Bobby was born to Irene and Fred L Storm Jr. on November 29, 1949, in Waco. He grew up in Bosqueville and attended school there through 6th grade (all there was). He then graduated from China Spring.

Bobby was a 4 year, 4 sport athlete earning All-District in football. He was on China Spring’s first district championship in 1966. Bobby was elected CS Most Representative boy his senior year. He also graduated from MCC (AA) and Sam Houston (BBA & MBA) Summa Cum Laude.

Bobby and the love of his life, Brenda Wiese Nichols, were married June 16, 1978. He worked at a local CPA firm, was the VP of Finance at Wilkirson-Hatch for 20 years before he and Brenda started and ran Storm’s Nursery until their retirement in 2012. Bobby was President of China Spring School Board, Athletic and Band Booster Clubs and PTA. He was also president of the Red Cross Gallon Club, local chapter of National Assn. of Accountants, Optimist Club of Waco, on the Board of Cross Country Water at China Spring, and CS Youth Athletic Association.

To know Bobby, was to love him. He made a positive impact on those around him regardless of the circumstance. He never knew a stranger and could spark a conversation with anyone, many due to his $2 bills. Few vacations or out of town trips occurred without running into someone he knew. He loved being the first in line, first to the games, first to the office or the nursery. There may be more than one way to complete a task, but only 1 right way: HIS way! (Including this obituary.) 3 rings, 1 Spring

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Donald and Freddie; nephew, Fred Jr.; and brother-in-law, Jr. Ogden.

Survivors include wife of 44 years, Brenda; sister, Pat Ogden; sister-in-law, Marilyn Storm; son, Mike Nichols (Kimberly) and Patrick and Derrick; daughters, Aimee Tekell (Doug) and Landree, Rylee and Kinsler, and Wendi Pack (Gary) and Addison and Gavin; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be grandsons Patrick and Derrick Nichols, Aurelio Garcia, CS Athletic Director Josh Gregory, CS Superintendent Marc Faulkner, and Justice of the Peace Brian Richardson. Honorary pallbearers will be grandsons, Kinsler Tekell and Gavin Pack.

In lieu of flowers, please make memorials to China Spring Athletics, 7301 North River Crossing, China Spring, TX 76633.

Place of Service: Lake Shore Funeral Home Chapel , 5201 Steinbeck Bend; Waco, TX 76708

  8. Watching the video made me realize that the Storm family really knew how to live and love. Bobby was a smart funny guy who loved his family, the CS Nation and popcorn. He was always a good friend and especially treated my Dad well, bringing him popcorn at the games! What a beautiful family Bobby and Brenda raised and what a blessing they all have been to me and my family throughout the years. I will miss Bobby but he has left quite a legacy both with his family and China Spring.
May God bless you all with God’s love and peace.
    My love to all

If I were to write a book of my life, I could have a whole chapter dedicated to Bobby and I. Rest in peace my dear friend ! Neal Shows

  14. Dale and Ruthie Youngblood

Dale and I were sad to hear Bobby had been ill and that he had passed. Our hearts are saddened. Bobby gave me a job opportunity to work around beautiful plants and trees. He and Brenda were easy to work for and I learned a lot. I considered him and Brenda good friends. I know he will be missed by many. My prayers are with Brenda and family.
