Betti Lou Plagens Easterwood, 81, passed away peacefully Monday, January 24, 2022 at midnight at her home in China Spring, surrounded by loved ones.

Betti was born October 20, 1940 in Waco to Herman and Selma Plagens. She lived in Waco most of her life and attended North Waco Elementary, North Junior High and Waco High Schools.

Betti’s early interests and activities revolved around horses, trail rides and rodeos, which she dearly loved. She also loved camping, fishing, playing softball, vacationing with family (Galveston!) and friends, and spending a lot of time with all the people she loved! Betti worked for Mrs. Baird’s Bakeries, Tom’s Peanuts, and The Dwyer Group. Betti loved people and animals and was loved by everyone who was blessed to meet her. She will be greatly missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Selma Plagens; brothers, John “Sonny”and Eugene Plagens; and her beloved sister, Bernice Self and brother-in-law, Paul Self.

Betti is survived by her son, Rodney Easterwood and wife Lisa; grandson, Kevin Easterwood and wife Melissa; and great granddaughter, Emerson; grandson, Charlie Easterwood; and her beloved life-long friend and caretaker, Cindy Bellringer; Betti is also survived by her nephews, Cliff Sharpless, Jr., and Brian Plagens; nieces, Beverly Sharpless Guidroz and Joy Lynn Plagens Leathers; and other extended family members and many friends.
