Alberta Griffin passed away Sunday, May 8, 2022.

Visitation: 6 – 8PM Friday, May 13, 2022.

Funeral Service: 1PM Saturday, May 14, 2022 at First United Methodist Church, 315 E. Elm Street, Hillsboro, Texas 76645. Burial to follow at Penelope Cemetery.

Mrs. Alberta Williams-Griffin was born January 15, 1946 in Malone. She attended Malone Public Schools. She joined Pleasant Olive Baptist Church of Malone at an early age under the leadership of Pastor Terrell. Later under Pastor Carl Oliver. In 1976 she met and married the love of her life, Mr. Sam Griffin. Later in life she she moved to Fort Worth, with her loving and devoted  cousin, Shirley Brown Harris. Alberta’s health began to decline, so she decided to move to Waco with her daughter, Judy. She wantd to be closer to her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. She loved spoiling her family with cook outs, playing games, and family fun. She loved all of her grandchildren. She became attached to Javarrey and Komonay Griffin. Alberta lived with them for some time.

She was preceded in death by her mother Cokquesa Williams; husband, Sam Griffin; great grandson, Marc Abor; and special cousin Pearl Cook.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, four daughters, Sammie Griffin-Davis and Larry of Waco, Kimberly and Blaine Griffin of Malone, Judy Griffin-Touchstone and Jerome of McGregor; son, Calvin Griffin and Trish of Waco; twenty grandchildren; thirty five great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren; and a loving devoted cousin, Shirley Brown Harris. She was surrounded by many cousins and friends that she loved dearly.
