Albert (Bert) Yglecias was born March 26, 1959 in Waco, TX. He was the second son of Vicente Yglecias Jr. and Alicia Duron Yglecias. They lived in Waco for his entire childhood. Bert grew up with brothers Armando, Edward and David Yglecias in the community of Speegleville, TX.

Bert went to Midway High School, while working nights at 7-Eleven.  After his first child, Joey, was born in 1981, he started a career at Coca Cola, Inc. He worked hard to advance his career at Coke from distribution driver to district sales manager, which he retired from in 2014. His passion for Coca Cola filled the walls of his home as he stayed loyal to the brand to his final days. He always made sure to have Coke products in his home and on outings for friends and family to enjoy.

Bert had two children, Joey Yglecias and Macy Velasquez. In 2006, Bert married wife, Michelle Yglecias, and welcomed two step-children, Michael Knoebel and Megan Ascencio as his own. He enjoyed many outings with Michelle and his newly extended family from Belton, TX. They lovingly welcomed him into the family and immediately became an important part of his life.

Bert loved using his free time to be with family.  He captured multiple precious moments dancing or singing karaoke with wife, Michelle.  They loved going to see their grandchildren play sports or simply sit down to play a game of dominoes around a table that was filled with an array of “grandpa’s” favorite types of chips.  One of his favorite pastimes was camping with his wife, children and grandchildren at various Texas parks.  All of Bert’s grandchildren knew that when camping, they could always go into grandpa’s cabin to sneak a special treat from grandpa’s wall of snacks.

He always looked forward to bar-b-queuing with his brothers and staying up late around the grill to reminisce about past memories or to watch a Cowboys game with a cold beer in his hand.  There was never a shortage of stories from when they were younger to lead to a night full of laughter.

Bert devoted his life to building strong memories for his family with holiday, camping and vacation traditions, such as dressing up on Christmas and handing out gifts from a magical Christmas bag or challenging the family for the title of “corn hole champion” during a camping trip.

As long as he was with family, Bert could always be found with a full heart and a big smile on his face. He was very excited and looking forward to meeting his newest granddaughter, Ava Grace, in November of this year.

During his quiet times, Bert and his two schnauzers, Chloe and Seymore, would nuzzle up in his favorite chair to get up-to-date on their favorite reality TV series or plan the next family get-together with loving wife, Michelle.

Bert was preceded in death by his parents, Vicente Yglecias Jr. and Alicia Yglecias; brother, Armando Yglecias and wife, Joy, of Rockwall, TX.

Bert is survived by wife, Michelle Yglecias of Waco, TX; son, Joey Yglecias and wife Jamile of China Spring, TX; daughter, Macy Velasquez and husband Derrick of Waco, TX; stepchildren, Michael Knoebel of Iron Mountain, Michigan and Megan Ascencio and husband Oscar of Irving, TX; brothers, Edward Yglecias and wife, Eloisa of Lorena, TX, David Yglecias and wife, Linda of Speegleville, TX; grandchildren, Alexis, Adelyn and Logan Yglecias and Ava Grace Velasquez (Expected November 2023) and countless loved nieces, nephews and extended family.
