Lynn Richard Bettinger, Sr.

Obit Picture1

Our sweet “Ever Loving Dad”…as he called himself…began his journey toward the light Friday afternoon…as his wife, daughter, son, son in law, and nieces thanked him, loved him and released him. After several years of incredibly hard ups and downs, he is at last at peace and no longer in pain. The hardest, yet most beautiful, part was watching our mom, his wife Betty, tell him goodbye after 61 years of marriage plus their time together during courtship…so much love shared.

Memorial Mass: 2pm Monday, October 16, 2023 at St. Louis Catholic Church, 2001 N. 25th Street, Waco, Texas 76708.

He grew up in Waco the grandson of German immigrants…during a very difficult time in the world. He educated himself, provided our family with a stable upbringing, loved us unconditionally, and guided us along the paths that were right for us unselfishly.

He retired in 2003 from Smith Pump Co after 25 years of being a successful, top producing salesperson.  He loved racing his quarter horses in several states, resulting in many great wins!

Survivors are his wife, Betty, the love of his life; son, Richard & husband, Chad; daughter, Shannon Wade; granddaughters, Katy & Lauryn Wade; brother, Ricky & wife, Judy; cousins, nieces, & nephews.

Special thanks go to the nurses and aides who took such good care of him.

He always called Mom his guardian angel as she took care of him when his health was failing…we have no doubts it is he who is the angel guarding us now. ❤️

  8. Donna Burke Richardson

Remember Lynn to be a sweet cousin. Even though I didn’t see him in later years, I appreciated that he would spare some time at family events to talk to
me-being the youngest. He has so many loved ones that have gone to heaven before him. I am sure that my mother, Evelyn Bettinger, was there to greet you with open arms. May God bless your family and friends. Donna Burke Richardson ✝️🙏

  9. Peggy Burke Williams

Lynn and I had fun together as teenagers although I lived in Cameron. As we grew older, each went their separate ways. Many times, I thought about getting together with him, but never did. I missed a lot! He had a wonderful family that I wished i had known. We were cousins….our parents were siblings.
