In Memorial

Donna Kay Hall, 58, of Woodway, passed from this Earth into the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Monday, March 20, 2017

Funeral Service: 10AM Saturday, March 25th at Victorious Life Church with Pastor Patrick Chaney officiating.

Private Interment: McGregor Cemetery.

Visitation: 6 to 8PM Friday, March 24th at Lake Shore Funeral Home, 5201 Steinbeck Bend in Waco.

Donna was born December 29, 1958 in Corpus Christi to Jack and LaWanda (Henager) Byrd and was raised in Waco. The family moved to McGregor when Donna was in the seventh grade. She graduated from McGregor High School in 1977. She married John Hall, Jr. on May 23, 1981 in McGregor and built a life together around their children in Waco – supporting them in their sports and activities. She was their biggest fan. She worked as a lifelong insurance professional. Donna truly exemplified the traits of a servant leader in everything she did. She was so kind, compassionate, loving, endearing and had a great sense of humor. She was beautiful inside and out. She loved Jesus and shared His love with her family and friends, pointing them to Jesus and the path to Heaven. She made Victorious Life Church her home where she was active.

She was preceded in death by her parents; mother-in-law, Lola Faye Hall; and grandchildren, Hayes Lee Hall and Riley Harrison.

Donna is survived by her husband of 35 years, John Hall of Woodway; daughter, Amber Harrison and husband John of Dallas; son, Cody Hall and wife Ginny of Lorena; grandchildren, Ellie Hall, Lincoln Hall, Emmy Hall, Mack Harrison, and Tess Harrison; sisters, Jackie Watson and husband Mike of McGregor, and Sherri Collins and husband Charles of McGregor; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives, and many friends, and her beloved dog, Tanner.

We first had the pleasure of meeting Donna and John when their son Cody came and lived with us in Madison WI while he played with the Madison Mallards. Cody came back every summer for 4 years and with him came his wonderful parents. Donna became a dear friend and we are so saddened by the loss of this gentle beautiful woman. I know she is looking down with that beautiful smile holding her 2 grandsons in her arms . They are safe with their beautiful Grandma

Dear John, Amber, Cody, and family: I am so sorry about your loss. Donna was such a bright spot in so many lives. I remember a letter I received from her and John thanking me for working diligently with their children. That letter was a treasure to me and I probably still have it in one of my “boxes of treasures.” I really loved the fact that I taught John, and was then able to teach the children! I could have written a letter thanking YOU as parents, because both were such a joy to teach and just to be around. Donna’s outer beauty was something to behold, but her inner beauty is what I will always remember. With love and prayer,

    • Oh Mrs. Shelton! My favorite teacher of all time! We were just on the street where you lived when I was in high school. I told my husband, John, what an amazing impact you made in my life. I would love to hug you again and thank you for your influence, and read that letter from my mom if you still have it.

  28. For Jackie, Mike, Sherri & Charles my thoughts and prayers are with you today, tomorrow & Saturday for God to wrap his arms around you and carry through the days ahead.
For Donna’s family my thoughts and prayers are with you all.
    God Bless you all.

  30. My thoughts and prayers are with you all

  31. Donna Kay, I find myself coming back and watching your life in a video when my heart feels down. Oh the memories of how close you and I were when we were growing up, what fun times we had, the laughter and the love we both thought knew no end. The times we were able to share for special times in your family, the love of your parents and again, the laughter and love you and I had for one another we both thought knew no end. We somehow lost touch and it was in those years, your lifetime dreams were filled, you were blessed with grandbabies. I see these pictures and wish the laughter and love would have never had an end. I wish I could have seen the joy on your face and heard your love and laughter with your grandbabies. I cherish the memories, forever and for always. It is the love I will carry in my memories that will be the love and the laughter we both thought knew no end.

  32. Debbie Jo Huey

Donna, today as with every other day, I find you in my heart. How can it be that you gained your angel wings a year ago today. I will be praying for your Amber as I know her heart will be heavy today. Please let her feel your love and presence today and every day. I love you, forever and for always.
