Ann was born February 19, 1925 in Troy, Alabama. She attended Auburn University in Alabama before meeting her future husband, Lt. Jim Pearson, in 1943. They were married in 1944, and later moved back to Jim’s hometown in Waco, where they raised their family. During their working years, they would take time to make special trips with the children all over the United States. Together, Ann and Jim would also travel the world, seeing places many of us only hear about.

Ann was a member of St. Alban’s St. Catherine Guild. She was a very hospitable woman, donating her time and love to others in need. Ann loved nature, cooking, and gardening, as well as spending time with her friends, and walking at the Cameron Park Zoo. She had a seashell collection from her travels that she donated to MCC in 2005, and they can still be viewed today in their Science Building. Ann was a beautiful soul who will be missed dearly by all that knew her.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, James Pinckney Pearson; two sons, James P. Pearson II and Jeffrey B. Pearson; and her mother, Eva Pierce Sellers.

She is survived by her daughter Kathleen Eden and husband, Bronson B. T. Eden of Waco; sister, Eve Sellers Brown and husband, Keith, of Niceville, Florida; as well as many nieces and a nephew.

Special thanks to the dedicated and compassionate staff on the 3rd floor of St. Catherine’s Center at Providence Park; and to her niece, Pamela, who accompanied Ann on many more journeys’ after the passing of Mr. Pearson, including Ann’s final journey.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Mrs. Ann Pearson’s name are made to the Cameron Park Zoological & Botanical Society, 1701 North 4th Street, Waco, TX 76707 or to St. Alban’s Episcopal Church in Waco.

My prayers are with you, Kathleen. Your Mom was a wonderful person and Aunt to me and I shall miss her. She could out-cook even Julia Childs and my childhood is filled with wonderful memories of big holiday family gatherings with a feast prepared by Aunt Ann! How I rejoice over the joy that she is living in now with our Lord, but know her presence here is terribly missed. Love, Becky

    Dear Kathleen,
I am a little late in seeing this, but I am so sorry for your loss. I remember your mother so fondly and what a wonderful friend she was to my mother. I can still here her voice calling from the backdoor when she would come to visit mother on Old MacGregor Rd.- “Margaret” , as sweet as honey with her wonderful drawl. I still remember her lovely backyards every time I put out my seasonal flowers. Love to you and yours and my thoughts and prayers are with you.
