Linda Ann Majors was born November 10, 1948 in Waco to Oscar and Lucille Balridge. After high school, she worked at various jobs including Texas State Technical College, Plantation Foods, and the Veteran Affairs Waco Regional Office.

While on a journey to find herself and better understand her emotions, she went on to graduate from McLennan Community College with a degree in mental health and a certificate in substance abuse. With newfound knowledge, sons to raise, and a past to overcome, Linda was born again and ready to live life like Christ. In 2009 she created her own non-profit, ‘Elegant Ladies Haven,’ to assist impoverished and less fortunate women in her community. On April 10, 2009, Mayor Virginia DuPuy proclaimed the day ‘Elegant Ladies Haven Day.’ Minister Linda decided that her own house passed on to her from her parents, would be the landing space for her organization and thus claimed it as “The Haven”.

The organization’s mission is “Taking people out of hell and populating Heaven.” Often spending her own money, she would visit local places like Caritas and Goodwill to gather supplies and give them to the homeless and/or less fortunate. Many days at her home were spent putting together care packages with hygiene products, diapers, canned goods, and other basic necessities – all given away for free. Linda was determined to give back to her community and show others that despite their mistakes, choices, and sins, God loves them and she loves them too. On April 21, 2019, ELH celebrated 10 years of service at the historic Cooper House in Waco.

Minister Linda was the definition of a servant. She was a faithful tither and sent daily messages and scriptures encouraging her family and friends. Even once her health placed her in nursing home care, she continued to serve her community with the help of volunteers such as Angela, her grandchildren, and her church family. Linda was a long-time member of Family Worship Center led by Pastors Darrell and Kim Price.

After talks with her youngest son, August 24, 2020, Linda decided to write an autobiography titled “My Joy Journey: Life with CHRIST.” The short but candid memoir essentially laid the foundation for her obituary to be written and gave those who only knew her from her giving ways a deep dive into the trials and tribulations that made her into the God-fearing woman she was. Some may not know that she typed the entire book on her cell phone and completed edits back and forth through the mail. She was a woman who always found a way and knew that spreading God’s word was worth the “hassle.”

Linda is preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Emmytice Bolridge, Lasalle Bolridge, Oscar Bolridge, Gloria Belle, and Edward “Bubba” Smith.

She leaves behind her husband of 29 years, Adolphus Majors of Waco; sister, Catherine Brookins of California; three sons, Matthew Ebron (Minnie) of Dallas, Tyrone Ebron (Chandra) of Augusta, GA, and Cory Ebron Sr. (Danielle) of Houston; nine grandchildren, Brandi, Tyrin, Des, Gabby, Tiana, Brandon, Darien, Tyrique and Cory Jr.; three great-grandchildren, Gavin, Jru and Treasure, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
