Geneva Jones

Geneva Jones

Geneva Jones, “Sis” passed to eternal rest on Thursday, August 4, 2022 at the age of 69. She was born on June 4, 1953 in Leon County to the late Jessie Lee Jones and Pauline Fernette Summons and was the youngest daughter of five girls.

Visitation: 5 – 7PM Thursday, August 11, 2022. Lake Shore State Room.

Funeral Service: 11AM Friday, August 12, 2022, at Pleasant Olive Missionary Baptist Church. Burial to follow at Doris Miller Memorial Park.

Geneva quickly learned the importance of family values. Spending family time was very important to her. She loved to spoil her grandchildren and great grandchildren by cooking their favorite foods. She never liked to see anyone go hungry. Reading her Bible and singing “There’s nothing better than knowing Jesus” to her great grandson, TJ, were the highlights of her day.

Geneva was given the nickname “Sis” as a young child by her grandmother, Lucille Scott. Sis was modernized to “Momma Sis” by her grandchildren. Sis accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. She was a member of Pleasant Olive Baptist Church where she served on the Usher board and sang in the Royal Ambassador Choir. She worked 23 years at Spenco Medical Corporation, in Waco, Tx as a production line worker and quality assurance before retiring.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jessie Lee Jones and Pauline Fernette Jones; and her sister, Judy Kay Johnson.

She leaves to cherish her memory: three daughters, Tammy Jones of Colorado Springs, CO, Tiffany (Aubrey) Shaw of Waco, and Christy (BJ) Henry of Austin; seven grandchildren, her beloved Terrance Jones, Ereka Jones, Erek Jones, Ernie Jones, Tania Shaw, Dion Jones and Aloria Shaw; four great grandchildren, Aryssa Jones, Larrielle Jones, Ka’era Jones-Devone and Terrance Jones Jr. (fJ); three sisters Jessie Louise Pullen, Rosemary Hilliard and Alma Juanita Savage; devoted granddaughter, Angela Jones; two devoted friends Michael Kuykendall and Ray Miles; a precious dog, Bella; along with several nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.

Place of Service: Pleasant Olive Missionary Baptist Church , 1600 League St.; Waco, TX 76704
