Joaquin T. "Canal" Jimenez, 84, of Waco, was sent to be with the lord on Monday, December 17, 2012. Graveside services will be 10AM Thursday, December 20th at Waco Memorial Park with Father John Guzaldo officiating. The procession will leave the funeral home at 9:30AM to go to the cemetery as a group. The family will receive visitors from 6 to 8PM Wednesday, December 19th along with the Rosary being recited by David F. Rodriguez beginning at 7PM at Lake Shore Funeral Home, 5201 Steinbeck Bend in Waco. Thoughts and memories may be shared in the online Guest Book at www.LakeShoreFuneralHome.com.

Joaquin was born in Delia TX, but raised in Waco where he was a carpenter for Khoury Inc., retiring after 40 years. He enjoyed watching his Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers. He was a very caring man that taught many of life’s learned lessons.

He was in preceded in death by his parents, Miguel and Refugia Jimenez; sister, Margarita Martinez,; brothers, Amador, Joaquin, Raymond, Mike, Paul and Alvino Jimenez; daughter, Maria Guerrero; and grandsons, Dominique Garcia, and Adam Compian.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Gloria Jimenez; daughters, Jackie Jimenez, Priscilla Jimenez, Rachel Guerrero, Gina Guerrero, Alethea Garcia, Ana Martinez, and Elaine Compian; sons, Leon Jimenez, Eddie Jimenez, and Simon Rivera Jr.; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; brothers, Juan Jimenez, and Santiago Jimenez; and sister, Florenzia Vicinais.
Pallbearers will be Robert Compian, Jr., Bryan Jimenez, Carlos Jimenez, Leon Jimenez Jr., Jordan Jimenez, and Simon Rivera, Jr.
