A Time to Be Born:

Willie Jewel Pimpton Cromer was born to Lucious and Elnora Hadley Pimpton in Falls County, Texas on June 13, 1931.

A Time to Plant:

Willie Jewel attended public school at Brandon Chapel in Golinda; she graduated from Rosenthal/Downsville in Downsville; she also attended Southwest Junior College in Inglewood, CA.  Willie Jewel and her family moved to Los Angeles, CA in 1966.  While living in California, Willie Jewel worked for the Los Angeles and Inglewood Unified School Districts as a cook.  She retired from Harbor Junior College in Harbor, in City, CA where she worked as a pastry cook.  Upon retirement, Willie Jewel and her husband settled in Robinson, Texas.  As a child, Willie Jewel was baptized at Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church in Downsville, TX, where she resumed her membership.  Willie Jewel will be remembered by her family and friends as a sweet lady with a quiet and gentle spirit. She was a virtuous woman of faith who loved the Lord, her family and her friends.

A Time to Love:

Willie Jewel was united in holy matrimony with Edmond Cromer on November 23, 1952.  They were married almost sixty-seven years.

A Time to Reap:

Willie Jewell was a passionate, loving and virtuous woman.  She had a gentle, meek and quiet spirit.  Willie Jewel never said a curse word or uttered an unkind word about anyone.  She was a wise mother and wife who laid the foundation for a very successful marriage and family.

Willie Jewel was a fishing woman!  She loved fishing with her husband and their fishing family and friends. She could cast her reel and line with the best, as she had a reputation for catching her fair share of catfish, perch and buffalo.Sshe loved her some crispy, deep fried buffalo fish.

From a child-up Willie Jewel loved dolls.  She was an enthusiastic doll collector. With more than 60 dolls in her collection, she treated her dolls with tender loving care.  At some time she had so many dolls on display in one room that her grandchildren felt the dolls piercing stares throughout the room; they refused to sleep in that room. .

As an outstanding homemaker, Willie Jewel loved cooking and baking. She could turn a simple meal into a dining experience fit for a king.  Her homemade breads, pastries, cakes and cookies were divine.  She baked an orange slice cake that would literally melt in your mouth, releasing an excitable rush throughout your entire body.  Willie Jewel displayed her amazing artistic talents through cake decorating.  Disney Character like Mickey Mouse and Super heroes like Batman and Superman came to life on her cakes. The highlight of her grandchildren’s birthday was receiving their very own homemade, hand decorated birthday cake from “grandmommie.”.

A Time to Die:

On Thursday, November 21, 2019, the sun set on a beautiful soul, Willie Jewel Cromer.  She will be greeted with open arms by her parents, by her husband, Edmond Cromer; her son, Dwayne Cromer; four sisters, Sara, Leatrice, Vera, and Ora Lee; one brother, JD; and many other loved ones.

A Time to Weep:

Willie Jewel’s memory will live on in the hearts of her sons, Carl (Karen), Willie; one daughter, Linda (Jerome) McAllister; ten grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
