William R. Beattie, 84, of China Spring, passed away Tuesday, January 19, 2010 at his residence. A memorial mass will be 10AM Friday, January 22nd at St. Philips Catholic Church in China Spring with Rev. Hilario Guajardo officiating. Visitation will be 6 to 8PM with the Holy Rosary being recited at 7PM Thursday, January 21st at Lake Shore Funeral Home, 5201 Steinbeck Bend in Waco. William was born August 3, 1925 in Detroit, Michigan to James and Sophia (Konen) Beattie. He started working at Huck Manufacturing in 1943, retiring in 1987 as plant superintendent. William served with the U.S. Navy during World War II from 1943 to 1946. He married Mary Lou Kracht in June 1952. They moved to Waco in 1973. He was a long-time member of St. Louis Catholic Church and was a current member of St. Philip

Dear Mary Lou and family, Words could not fully express my deepest sympathy for the loss of Bill. Please know that I share in your grief.
