A native of Gholson, Billy was born, May 2, 1966 to William Lee and Karlene LaVelle Gassaway Kilgo. Growing up in the Gholson area, Billy graduated in 1985 from Aquilla High School. Later that year, Billy married the love of his life, Terri Glenn, November 2nd in Gholson. Billy worked for many years in water line construction and supervision, starting in 1993 for Ross Water Supply as Manager and Operator. Billy also worked as an operator for Gholson Water Supply and in 2005 started his own water line construction company, “Kilgo Construction”. When not on the job, Billy was an avid outdoor enthusiast. He enjoyed riding his Harley, fishing on Lake Whitney and the Brazos River, air boating and pontooning every chance he could and camping with family and friends. Family summer vacation trips to Port Aransas were always a highlight of each year. Billy’s biggest passion was being outside with his grandson, riding on the backhoe or tractor and teaching him to love the outdoors. Watching and supporting football, brought Billy great joy, weather it was the Dallas Cowboys or the Gholson Wildcats. In 2016, Billy became a member of the “Hog Association”, and was proud of his new Harley Trike. Buying, fixing up, selling and trading cars and trucks was a hobby of Billy’s, though his wife, Terri would say he did more buying than selling and trading, but still supported all his endeavors. Billy was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, James Kilgo and Willie Britton Kilgo; his maternal grandparents, Adolphfus Allen Gassaway and Florence Katherine Gassaway; and his mother-in-law, Brenda Glenn, who loved him dearly.

Billy will be cherished and remembered with love by his loving wife of over 32 years, Terri Kilgo; son, Calvin Kilgo; parents, William and Karlene Kilgo; grandson, Ayden Lee Kilgo; siblings, Cindy Chase and Cheryl Urbanovsky and husband Colby; brother-in-law, Delton Glenn; nieces and nephews, Roger Chase, Jr., Sierra Horne, Kaison Biles, Mallory Glenn and Laken Elifrits; along with numerous other loving family and friends.

Billy’s family would like to offer a special thank you to the staff from Scott & White Hospice for all of their tender loving care they gave to Billy during this journey.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Billy’s name are requested to be sent to the American Cancer Society for cancer research or the McClinton Cancer Center, 150 Hillcrest Medical Blvd., Waco, Texas 76712.

In Memory…………

Those we Love remain with us,
for Love itself lives on.
Cherished memories never fade ,
because one Love is gone.
Those we love can never be,
more than a thought apart,
for as long as there’s a memory,
they live on in our heart.

Billie has been a great asset to Ross Water Supply and our community. His hard work and dedication to our members will be missed by all. No matter what time of day or night, if anyone had an emergency leak…Billie was on it. Billie had two marriages, one to his wife Terri and the other to the water supply community. Terri you have been very gracious to share Billie all these years and know that our prayers are with you and your family.

Condolence from Larry Holder on March 16th, 2017 11:24 am
