Travis Wayne Hammer, 96, of Waco, passed away Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at a local nursing center. Graveside services will be 2PM Friday, May 6th at Fairview Cemetery in Hubbard with Rev. Jack Bodenhamer officiating. Visitation will be 6 to 7PM Thursday, May 5th at Lake Shore Funeral Home, 5201 Steinbeck Bend in Waco. Travis Wayne Hammer was born on August 20, 1914 in Hill County, Texas. On Tuesday, May 3, 2011 he became absent from the body and at home with the Lord at the age of 96.

Mr. Hammer grew up on family farms in Mt Calm and Hubbard. He later moved to Waco to work for Cameron Mills. In 1954, he went to work for Progress Laundry in Waco, and stayed there until he retired in the mid-1980

Aunt Mary,I’m sorry I could not be there! You know Uncle Travis was a great man!!!!!!!!! He loved deeply and his heart was made of gold!!!! And I will always have great memory’s of my young childhood. YOU and Uncle Travis I have held deeply to my heart though out my life and I truely THANK OUR LORD AND SAVOR FOR THE BOTH OF YOU!!!!!!
