Travis L. Karl, 19, of Golinda, tragically passed away Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2011. Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, at Church of the Open Door with Pastors Ronnie Holmes and Walter Connally officiating. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 2, at County Line Cemetery near Yoakum, with Pastor Adam Jaquez officiating.

Travis was born Oct. 8, 1991, in Yoakum, to Kenneth and Delores (Friedel) Karl. He worked as a Roughneck in the oil fields, which he really enjoyed. Travis loved his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Dodie Karl.

Survivors include his father, Kenneth Karl; brothers, Matt, Caleb and Jason Karl; sister, Brooke Emily Karl; grandmother, Doris Friedel; and a large host of other relatives and close friends.

Pallbearers will be Matt Karl, Caleb Karl, Seth Keen, Lupe Salinas, Don Powers, Keith Jackson, Ross Tieken, Chris Finch, Richard Oehler, Freddy Martinez, Mario Garcia, Randy Guajardo and Richard Anzualda.

I taught Travis at Yoakum High School. Although my time knowing him was brief, I will miss knowing is somewhere here on this earth. you meant the world to me. I cannot believe its almost been a year. I swear there is not a day that i dont think about you. you are on my mind constatly. i cherish the moments that we were together..as a couple…and the bestest of friends.
