Travis Bates, 61, of Waco, passed away on Sunday, March 17, 2013. A private, family memorial service will be held at a later date. Thoughts and memories may be shared in the online Guest Book at www.LakeShoreFuneralHome.com.
Travis was born January 5, 1952 to Leon and Eunice (Dean) Bates in Chatanooga, TN. In 1992, he married Judy Autry. He will be remembered as a loving father and husband who took joy in caring for and playing with his grandchildren, as well as an excellent BBQ cook. Travis also liked to hunt, most specifically, deer.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Martha Holt; a daughter, Linda Cote; and one grandson, Ronnie Edwards.
He is survived by his wife; two sons, Eddie Thornton of Cleburne and Toby Bates of GA; five daughters, Cindy Daniel and husband Al of CA, Kim Bates of AL, Wendy Edwards and husband Mark of Rio Vista, Tina Hall of Riesel, and Cathy Bossard of Moody; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; four sisters, Linda Clanton and husband Wayne of AL, Charlene Talley and husband Redman of TN, Teresa Veal and husband Ricky of AL, and Libby Lott and husband Michael of AL; and many more friends and family members.

Travis was a wonderful Volunteer. He will be missed by the Volunteers as well as the patients.

I am very sorry for your loss. I enjoyed going to cardiac rehab and seeing Travis’ smiling face. We had loads of fun and he will be greatly missed.
