Stephen “Mike” Lindloff, a life-long resident of Waco, died on Saturday,July 28, 2018 at the age of 61 after a brief but aggressive battle with cancer. He passed peacefully with loving family at his side and professional caretakers of Providence Hospice attending to his needs.
Celebration of Life Service: 10a.m. Saturday, August 4th at Lake Shore Funeral Home Chapel.
Mike was preceded in death by grandparents Julius and Eline Lindloff and Marvin and Ruby Seabolt.
He is survived by a large and loving family: parents, Clifford and Charlotte Lindloff; son, Stephen Michael Lindloff Jr.; former spouse and dearest friend, Lisa Lindloff; brother, Monty Lindloff and wife Angie; brother, Andy Lindloff and wife Laurie; and sister, Julie Warren and husband Scot. He also leaves behind 15 nieces and nephews, Holly Matkins, Heidi Patterson, Chase Lindloff, Lindsay Warren, Brenna Warren, Julianna Lindloff, Michael Cockrell, Sean Cockrell, Bryan Cockrell, Brandon Cockrell, Shannon Carpenter, Trevor Renshaw, Alyssa Renshaw, Laura Muchmore, Brad Muchmore; as well as 15 great nieces and nephews.
Second to family, Mike loved sports. If you couldn’t find him at home watching a sporting event (especially the Cowboys), Mike was on the golf course or fishing for crappie. He also loved music and games, especially dominos with the family.
Mike worked for Levi Straus, Dr. Pepper, the family owned, Comet Cleaners, and finally Walmart Return Center. His work ethic was admirable and he took pride in every job he had. He grew up in a Christian home and worshipped at the Church of Christ with his parents. Mike continued to live a life of faith and love. Mike graduated from Connally High School and went on to study at McLennan Community College. Both of his parents taught for CISD and now his son is a teacher at Connally also. Because of his strong ties to the schools he attended and his appreciation for education, Mike stated that he would like to leave behind a helping hand for students pursuing a college degree.
Mike asked the family to establish a scholarship for Connally graduates to attend MCC. He said, “Flowers are here briefly, but education lasts forever.” A scholarship has been established in the Lindloff Family name at McLennan Community College for a Connally High School Graduate. Condolences for the family of “Stephen “Mike” Lindloff”
Truly heartbroken by this, Mike you were always a great friend and I enjoyed working with you at 9153. We had many great times from taking turns buying each other Whataburger breakfast to being goofy at work. You are missed by many my friend. My thoughts and prayers go out to your family and all the ones left to cherish your memory. Rest in peace my friend til we meet again.
My deepest heartfelt condolences to you his family. I worked with him and I’ll always think of him fondly, and what a tremendously hard working man he was. Always a smile and a kind word. May he rest in peace and you his family find yours knowing he is no longer in pain and rejoicing in his new loving kindom. You will all be in my prayers.
Love and prayers to all the Lindloff’s during this time. Mike was a wonderful and fun person to be with and I’m so glad I got to spend lots of holiday dinners and good times with him! He will be missed by our family very much but I’m glad he is no longer suffering and we know we will see him again one day! God bless you all.
My thoughts and prayers to the family. I work at 9153 and I just want say that when I heard about Steven it really made me feel sad . He was such a nice person always to me. He will be missed . No more pain.
I have fond memories of Mike at Connally High School in Waco and he was a good friend. I especially remember how gracious his mom and dad were to me after my father passed in ‘77 by housing me for over 2 months in their home until I returned to college in August of that year. A guy like Mike is gone too soon as he had blessed so many people along the way with his vivacious caring character. C.S. Lewis, a famous Christian author who wrote many books including the Chronicles of Narnia, wrote the following in one of his books, The Last Battle, that definitely applies to Mike: “All their life in this world and all their adventures … had only been the cover and the title page: now at last they were beginning Chapter One of the Great Story which no one on earth has read: which goes on forever: in which every chapter is better than the one before.” May Mike’s family, parents, siblings (Monty, Julie, and Andy), and friends all feel God’s comforting presence in this time of earthly loss of Mike, and we are all looking forward to seeing him again in Heaven for those who believe in Christ, along with the rest of our loved ones who have gone on before us. Thank you, Jesus, for lending Mike to us to bless us and making us all better people because of him. I pray for his family, his parents, Charlotte & Clifford, and his siblings, Monty, Andy, and Julie during this difficult time that they will feel the peace and comfort that only God can provide as they cherish the memories of Mike.

I am saddened to learn the Lindloff Family has lost their Mike. I send my deepest condolences to this lovely family. I recall in the mid 1970’s, how the young Lindloff brothers and the Crockett boys sat on the front row during church. Right under the watchful eye of Fred Williams. The sat so quietly and nicely through out services.
(The parents sat farther back during church). Those little blond boys were so very cute
sandwiched in place and behaving so well! A fond memory in my mind’s eye.
My prayers are with this sweet family.

My deepest sympathy to Mike’s family for the loss of your son, brother and father. I only knew Mike during high school but I have fond memories of him . He was truly one of the genuinely good guys. My prayers are with you all.
Mike was a golf friend of mine. When I joined the Waco men’s Golf League, I didn’t know anyone, but Mike welcomed me and made feel like part of the group. We will miss him on the course. He was a great guy. Condolences from the Waco Men’s Golf League.
Awesome video! I understand the Lindloff Thing”, since I am one. Sorry I never got to know him but it looks like he left a legacy of Love! His parents are so special to me and I know missing him will be difficult. Knowing he is in glory with his Lord and Savior and totally healed is such a comfort. May God place is loving arms around the Lindloff Family.

It is with the utmost respect and admiration that I send my condolences. Mike was not just a friend but a true brother. He was the brother that I never had. If not for Mike being a devout brother and true friend, I would not be here today. His devotion to family and self imposed limits during a very impressionable time of our lives. My character and integrity would not be of a quality to allow me into heaven had Mike not been in my life. I apologize for this delay in recognition and celebration of Mike’s life. I know you all miss him as I do. I’ve missed him being in my life daily for quite some time. Not a day in my life passes without thoughts of Mike. That is because of his selfless and endearing loyalty that he held for us all. I think my timing for this writing is appropriate. The short time of Mike’s illness didn’t allow for much preparation and the anguish over the loss was too fresh. In Remberance of your son and my brother.
