Condolence from Sue Hix Vernon and Glenn Vernon on July 29th, 2014 5:22 pm

Prayers to all Ron’s family for comfort. Glenn can tell many hunting stories about Ron, most of them quite funny. One of the pictures in the video is of Ron and Glenn with the Javelinas they killed at Fort Stockton in 1978 (or 79). That was Glenn’s first bow hunt out of Coryell County. They had many hunting adventures after that. I worked with Ron at Coryell County Farm Bureau (1979-81) and he was a wonderful co-worker and friend. Stephanie and (Little) Ron, your dad loved you very much. We won’t be able to attend the service on Thursday due to prior commitments, but know that we loved your dad. We have wonderful memories of him, and share in your loss.
Sue and Glenn, (Gatesville, Texas)

Condolence from Randy Everson, Ray High ’63 on July 30th, 2014 9:58 am

Ron and his family are in my thoughts. I remember him as a great guy during our time at Ray High. If that is true, he was an even greater husband, father and grandfather. This is the highest tribute that can be paid to any human being during their lifetime. He had a good ride and is now in the loving arms of our Father. Ron, say ‘hi’ to Anne and the dogs. Tell them I’ll catch up after the chores are done.

Ronny was a good man and a fine athlete and competitor. I am sure those traits carried over to being a great father and grandfather. He is certainly in a better place with “Our Lord and Savior’, Jesus Christ. God rest his soul.

I am truly sorry for your loss and may God be with you and your family during this time. I enjoyed visiting with Mr. Jensen and our talks about fishing and hunting. I think of him everytime I look down and see his drawing on my folder where he was teaching me how to put shrimp on my line before a fishing trip I was going on. I know he’s going to be missed. Prayers to your family.
